Alpine Chefs was founded by private chefs Hannah and Teresa, who bring together their unique backgrounds —Teresa is Italian and Hannah is Australian. After many seasons working high demand in luxury ski chalets in Val d'Isere, they realised that other private chefs could benefit from their mentoring and expertise, while guests would have a far smoother experience in finding the right chef to suit their skiing holidays and tastes.

Our chefs come from a variety of different experiences, and backgrounds, and they speak a variety of languages. We are all passionate about creating memorable meals, beautifully plated dishes, a warm ambience and to showcase local and seasonal produce. We pride ourselves on professional and personable service, our experience and local knowledge. Of course, just like you each of us have been drawn to work in the Alps by our other passion: skiing! We are proud to introduce you to our team.

Private Chef 

Growing up in the Dolomite mountains of North-eastern Italy cooking at her grandmother's side, food and hosting was always at the centre of her life. Her family were typically Italian, so passionate about high quality ingredients and cooking from scratch. She is committed to health and sustainability while never sacrificing flavour. She enjoys celebrating artisan Italian products, such as olive oils pressed by her family, alongside produce grown locally to the French Alps. Teresa and her family including three little ones have called the French Alps home since 2018.

Hannah Tooke

Private Chef 

Australian Hannah moved to the French Alps ten years ago and is the definition of a chalet chef, having started as a chalet girl and  in honed her skills during winter ski seasons in Val d'Isère, Switzerland, Australia and Japan. Her background in art and fashion styling means she has a meticulous eye for detail and her plates are always a feast for the eyes, as well as the taste buds. She has been heavily influenced by growing up in multiculture Melbourne, extensive travels around the world, as well as her French family. She spends each summer cooking in Provence, where she has learnt the true value of starting with the best local and seasonal produce. She is a passionate 'freeride' skier also, competing in competitions.

Suzanna Wise

Private Chef

Suzanna's love of cooking started with time spent in the kitchen with her grandmother on the family farm, which eventually blossomed into her profession.  She has now been working as a chef for nearly 10 years, working in chalets, villas, châteaux, lodges and private residences across Europe and the UK. Nurtured by  her time on the family farm, Suzanna is passionate about using fresh local produce to create exceptional dishes for her guests and takes culinary inspiration from her travels. She excels at producing high end culinary delights, as well as hearty, traditional family style menus.

Josh Wheway

Private Chef

Josh was drawn to the Alps many years ago by his love of skiing and touring. He began cooking in chalets in Val d’Isère with luxury chalet company Hip Hideouts, starting as a breakfast and sous chef. He quickly moved in to restaurant kitchens, training under Michelin starred Clive Dixon and Fat Duck graduate Nick March in a boutique Provençal hotel. Later he worked in restaurants around his now hometown Briançon in the southern Alps, and helped establish a kitchen garden at Restaurant La Marotte. Josh draws from his wealth of restaurant and private experience to lovingly prepare both classic dishes and modern platters in the comfort your ski chalet or residence.​​

Sam Coulter Smith

Private Chef

Sam started his winter seasons working for luxury chalet company Hip Hideouts and Bramble ski. Through this exposure to fantastic food, Sam was inspired to learn for himself. In 2021 he completed the month long chef training program at the prestigious Ballymaloe Cookery School in his hometown of Dublin. He has since worked as a private chef in Val d'Isère during the winter seasons, as well as across the south of France and wider Europe during summer times. 

​​

Sam is passionate about sustainability and environmentally friendly eating. For this reason he specialises in vegetarian cuisine, though not exclusively if your tastes require. Meat lovers are constantly suprised by the big, bold flavours Sam achives with his vegetarian dishes. This passion for sustainability of course means that local produce will always be celebrated on his plates.    ​​

Private Chef

French traditions run deep in the cuisine of Lauriane, inspired by generations of her family's southern French culture and the Mediterranean lifestyle. Her style of cooking style blends the rich culinary heritage of her family with the modern gastronomic techniques that she learnt during her culinary education and professional experience. Her world travels have also been important in shaping her food philosophy and flavours.

Lauriane's cooking is about more than just the food; it's about moments, sharing,  connection, creating memories and celebrating local specialities. She sees dining as a moment to slow down, feel at home and enjoy the simple pleasures of of gathering around a table and sharing food. Her approach is humble yet refined, classic but innovative. Her dishes not only delight the pallet, but creative meaningful moments and memories that stay with you long after your holiday.

Kate Dabrowski

Private Chef & Cocktail Master

Kate began her hospitality career hosting guests in luxury ski chalet in the French Alps, and working as a stewardess and mixologist on super yachts cruising the Mediterranean and beyond. After working with so many talented chefs in these locations Kate was inspired to train as well, so that she could now share her enthusiasm for food and dining with her guests. She cooks an exciting variety of styles of food, drawing inspiration from her travels, and her dishes are always as beautifully presented as they are flavourful.  

​

Her original passion for cocktails and mixology has not left her though - creating cocktails is an art form that uses the same precision and creativity that is required in cooking after all. She now runs cocktail events and master classes in the alps alongside her cooking career. Her masterclasses are a spectacular experience to share with friends, or an elegant addition to any dinner party or celebration.
